Podiatry
Derived from the Greek words podos (the feet) and latro (physician).
The human foot is an amazingly engineered structure that is both flexible
and strong. Its design has evolved while functioning on soft, irregular
surfaces (for example the forest floor). Modern surfaces (which are
hard and flat) and extreme stress, caused by running or prolonged
walking, can cause painful conditions to arise. The following paragraphs
describe the most common problems that Dr. Halpine treats. |
